I think this goes without saying but the importance of marketing cannot be overstated. If you're in business - your business is marketing. Periodt.

To effectively sell your product or service, you need customers who are interested in what it is that YOU HAVE that will make their lives better once they purchase from you. It's that simple.

It all starts with knowing how to create marketing efforts that actually work to generate new and repeat clientele.

So...let’s get into the nitty-gritty. Here's a sure-fire marketing strategy to ensure you're hitting all points.

Here's how to break down marketing plans to keep revenue flowing in.

I use a simple 60% / 20% / 20% approach. Here's the breakdown:

1) 60% short-term marketing plans for immediate revenue - the "now:

2) 20% long-term initiatives - the "later"

3) 20% Evergreen Marketing- the "constant"

After years and years of playing with marketing - this flow has had the best turn out to make sure there's a firm grasp on what brings money in now but allows you to keep an eye out for what should should be done in the future to grow, as well.

Here's a little more of an explanation for each:

1) The Now: This is very obvious but - it's the marketing that you need to do right away to get results fast. This could be something like a sale, influencer campaign, limited time only or "act fast" buttons on your site/social media pages, or a new product that you want to introduce to your customers. The key with this type of marketing is to make sure that your campaigns are highly targeted so that you reach the right people with the right message and get them to engage and purchase now.

2) The Future: Longer-term plans are those which will take slightly longer to generate results but create opportunities in the future to ensure brand awareness + trust and growth. These type of plans should built to utilize new technologies or platforms and maybe even a totally new market. You should use this time to tap into new markets, promote growth outside your typical platforms and create/build trust over a longer period of time. This is crucial if you're looking to increase your customer base and build trust. In these plans - you should make an effort to really stretch yourself and think outside the box. As a matter of fact, pretend there is no box. Go crazy and tap into things you wouldn't normally. Allow yourself to really explore alternate options and new things that might not be on other people's radar at all.

3) Evergreen: These are the types of marketing campaigns that you need to be working on all the time, regardless of whether you have a new product or sale. They’re called “evergreen” because they’re always relevant and always working to generate leads and customers for your business. Some examples of evergreen marketing include podcasts and blogging. All of these activities should be part of your regular marketing mix so that you can continually attract new people to your business.

So there you have it! A quick overview of the three types of marketing that you need to be aware of: Now, Later, and Evergreen. By incorporating all of these strategies into your marketing mix, you’ll be sure to keep revenue coming in, attract new customers and make sure you have constant growth.
